My dear Grace,

Am sending you the first volume of Middlemarch and ask you to please send me the second one soon as you can. I feel that I want to finish both books before starting anything else. Today has been a beautiful clear warm day, a few hurrying [[storm?]] clouds of white in the sky. This morning I again worked on my new snow picture, everything seemed to go wrong with it; after dinner I looked at it again but not feel like working, for some reason or other
