Polish dwg's, it's supposed to be the fierceness of the line, a kind of pervasiveness of sharp edges (e.g. collage sawed materials & knifed materials covering them) that reinforces the interlocking & wedged shapes. You rightly connect this to the "strict style" where there is also excessive linearity reinforcing the patterns or structural shapes. See, their linear or edge emphasis is dominant in the the early & later work. It was minimal in the '66 ptgs and relatively neutral & diffuse in the protractor ptgs. kind of

Now, if this linearity, properly applied, is at the heart of my true character as a painter, what am I going to do with my take & love of the '66 ptgs., where I kept it down to the barest minimum & got good results? I attacked them, as hard as I could with the Polish ptgs. & made no headway. I outflanked them with the metal construction-reliefs. You seem to be able to take the reliefs with more of a sense of a realization of a
