[[/strikethrough]] After drying, colors were applied with transparent, lacquer-based silk-screen inks over those broad areas in which we can see through the color to the etched aluminum beneath. White was added to the lacquer-based inks in those areas where more matteness and opacity was desired, though sometimes these areas are covered with Magna as well, and oil stick for the scumbled and scribbled planes. Frequently a coat of Bocour's pearlescent white [[illegible x'd out words]] provides the roughened surfaces for this scribbling.

Sometime in 1975 Stella prepared the twenty-eight drawings for the more complex exotic bird sequence. Of these, fifteen have so far been executed, each in three versions. The first version is the smallest, repeating the scale of the working drawing and the foam board working maquette (not permanent)

usually in the range of one and a half to two feet square; the second version is three times larger than the first, and the third version is 5.5 times larger than the first. All three versions, of course, differ in their coloration. The treatment of the aluminum surfaces is essentially the same as described for the Brazilian series, except that in the exotic bird sequence quantities of the ground glass that can be observed glinting from point to point in the pictures were applied to the surfaces as [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] a second coat of clear lacquer was drying, and pearlescent white was not used at all.

[[strikethrough]] The Tri-Wall cardboard pictures, as well as all the metal pictures, were fabricated from Stella's drawings by the Hexcel Corporation, Phoenix, Arizona. [[/strikethrough]]

The Tri-wall cardboard pcs, the large Brazilian pcs, the aluminum & steel maquettes, & the 1st six of the exotic birds were fabricated by *Tomkins Tooling Industries Gardena, California.

The remaing [[remaining]] exo tee bord construction 5 Tomkins made 6 large versions, 3 of them at 6x scale, & 3 of them at 5.5x scale. They also fabricated 1 small honey combed aluminium version were fabricated by Hexcel Corp. in Cosa Grande, Arizona. (60 mi south of Phoenix)

*T.T.I built # 1, 11, & 13 at 6x. They built # [[?]] 2, 4, & 7 at 5.5x. They built # 4 at 1x (This explains why #'s 1, 11 & 13 have versions with R.N.II after title, the others were already out so it couldn't change their titles.
