FRANK-
Thanks for arranging for me to attend your last lecture. Amazingly enough, my girlfriend and I had only a few weeks earlier been running through some gallery up at the Met on our way to see some Pompeii Bartoni originals when we rounded a corner and got a full blast of Potters [Baby] Bull! The photographic quality stopped us in our tracks. It actually struck me as a glorified and extremely large "paint by the numbers" painting. we were also impressed that anyone who would paint such a seemingly serious painting would have the levity to let his farmer be seen taking a piss!

You made reference to the fact that making great art really diminished the artist personally. I just want to tell you that, as you diminish, you also provide inspiration for those of us who know you through squash and naturally through your art to the legions o art appreciators and would-be artists - your personal loss is our collective gain.

Thanks again,
Jeff Botz
