VIA GREGORIANA 36. ROMA.

🗸

[N.D.]

My dear Mr. Macbeth-

I am enclosing a letter from Commissioner General of the United States to the International Ex. here - that will explain itself-

I think if you have these three pieces still, it would be better for "the work" in the long run to have them invited over here - I regret taking them from you, but will promise to send, some new ones to take their place. The group of bronzes that is down in Buenos Ayres [[Aires]] will be returned to you. I have made one or two very small seals (figures) I suppose I shall have to send them in the plaster to the Roman Bronze and then have them sent to you from there in bronze - this duty on bronze-work makes us lots of work- I have a letter from Robert in regards the marble head, inquiring its price- I wish to keep it for a few years yet until, I have a certain treatment of it well in mind.

I enclose the order which if all is agreeable to you I will ask you send at once to Harrison S. Morris. Commissioner
