March 12, 1913.

Mr. George Grey Barnard,

New York City.

Dear Sir:

I am in receipt of your letter of March 10th. I am sorry to hear that you have been ill, and trust that you have now entirely recovered from your indisposition. I regret your decision in regard to the Bust for more reasons than one. I had hoped to have some specimen of your work here in the State Captiol, but inasmuch as you feel as you do about the Busy, I suppose we may as well consider the matter closed. Will you kindly send me the photograph which I sent you? Perhaps some other opportunity may arise to give us some specimen of your art in North Carolina.

Very truly yours,

R.D.W. Connor
