My dear Mrs. Thaw:

Mr. Barnard wishes me to write and suggest to you that you call on the Director of the Metropolitan Museum as years ago they inquired if they could purchase the "Maidenhood" wishing to add it to their collection.

Mr. Barnard believes if you write and say this piece is forsale they may still consider it. Mr. Barnard could possibly sell it to an individual but prefers to see it in a museum, as it was never intended for an out-door piece.
