Dear Mr. Panikker:

Thank you for your letter dated November 1st. I did know a Catholic priest called Pannikar from the University of Benares.

As for visiting here, I am afraid we could not do it on a Sunday, as it is the only day in the week where I am able to take a rest, as on Saturdays we have an open house here where we receive visitors. If you could possibly make it on that day, I could see you either in the morning or in the afternoon.

I think I have heard that Dilip Kumar Roy has passed away, but I am not quite sure. He and I were rather good friends in the ashram, and in his apartment overlooking the Bay of Bengal there were some wonderful concerts and dance recitals. I remember these vividly as being some of the great beauties of Indian art.

Please let me know if you wish to visit some Saturday, which would probably be well to do before the weather gets too bad.

Sincerely yours,
