Dear Mr. Nakashima:

I was very disappointed when I read your letter of September 23 stating that you would not be able to lecture in our College. If there is some misunderstanding that can be corrected, then we would like for you to reconsider our offer to come for a visit.

Being a State supported institution, we are subject to its procedures. Therefore, the "all inclusive" statement is mentioned only as a matter of clarification.

The "get togethers" after the lecture have varied from dinner in town to informal gatherings at one of the faculty's home. Often we have a wine and cheese reception. We would very much for you to come as we feel you are a very special individual. Thus, we offer to accommodate our schedule to dates which will fit your schedule. We always take pride in treating any guest with the utmost care, and to make their stay with us very pleasurable. I believe you, as have past guest lecturers, remember your stay here as being enjoyable and satisfying.

Sincerely,
Dean
