Acknowledges receipt of comm of 19th ult and returns thanks. 
Have be interviewed by principal freedmen of both nations who deny that Mr. Dell is their delegate. that they have never heard of him. States that the freedmen are in an unsettled condition. they have not yet been adapted by the Indians as citizens of the nations, have given them all the assistance & counsel within his power.
