Office Congressional Printer.
Washington Sept 23' 1870.

Sir:

I beg leave to call your attention to Chapter 155 of the laws, L 184.185. approved June 24th 1864. which provided that.

"The heads of the several Executive Departments shall furnish to the Congressional Printer copies of the documents usually accompanying their Annual Reports, on or before the first say of November in each year, and copied their annual reports on or before the third monday of November each year."

Delays having heretofore occurred in complying with these requirements, the Congressional Printer would suggest that great embarrassment seemed to his office in consequence thereof.
