Circular,
Christmas and New Years days falling on Sundays, the War Department and Bureau will be closed on Monday December 26th and Monday January 2nd 1871.
During the intervening week the office hours will be from 9. a.m. to 12. m. and only one half of the number of clerks employed will be required to be present at those hours so that each individual may have one half of the number of days entire holiday between Christmas and New Years.
