Instructions for setting up Donald Judd -
Untitled, 1968
painted steel 8 sections - each 48" x 120" x 8"
(8" intervals, 120" total length)

The rectangles go side by side 8 incnes [[inches]] apart, making up a square 10' x 10'.

The brackets are attached to the ground corresponding to the positions of the struts on the underside of the rectangles. The brackets, of course, all face one way.

The rectangles slide onto the brackets, the strut under the raised edge.

Be sure the 8" spacing is even and that all the rectangles are in line and level.

The way in which the brackets are attached to the ground depends on the exposure of the site, the wind, the kind of ground, etc. If the site is somewhat protected long metal stakes might be sufficient. Otherwise bolts into concrete filled postholes is the easiest way. It is best if the ground under the piece is uniform; no concrete showing. Gravel is probably the best cover. There might be some low growing plant - an inch- though.
