Mrs Del Balso,
101 Spring St.,
New York, 10012.

22nd March 1971

Dear Mrs Del Balso,

Thank you for your letter of March 16. The reason that I have not remitted the scrap metal money is that I was waiting for the firm who repaired the large piece that was rocky to send in their bill. However as the repair was not well done and as I took the trouble to write them a letter protesting at the standard of their workmanship I think I have actually saved Don some money at some effort on my behalf. I am sure Don will appreciate my efforts.

I refer to my letter of November 13th which itemises the the money that Don owes the Whitechapel. I hope that he will accept that I have also deducted £25 which Leo Castelli owes the Gallery and will not ask Leo to pay Don direct just to keep everything as simple as possible.

Therefore I am sending as soon as possible (we have to get a special kind of clearance to send the money) a cheque for £105.50.

I was very sorry to get a copy of the letter from our transporters Pitt and Scott that Michael Scott had written to Don. I am writing to them. The whole show was insured by Eindhoven for the entire tour so that Don himself will have to make any claims that he thinks appropriate to the insurance company in Holland.

Yours sincerely,

Jerry
