Sir:
I am instructed to reply to your letter of the 20th inst that the records of this office show that the claim of Minney Temple mother of Frederick Temple dead was settled by the Treasury Department and she was entitled to $117.86 less $10.00 attorney's fees.  The amount due i.e. #107.86 was sent to Col. B.P. Runkle and it is believed that the whole was paid to the claimant.

But your letter will be referred to Col Runkle for report.
