Dear Sir: Shortly after my visit to you last week, I wrote a letter to General Armstrong, stating how the case stood, as I had learned it, concerning the title of the property at Hampton and stating also that you and I proposed to visit New York and see the Missionary Association.

The General sent that letter to Mr Whipple and wrote to me an answer that he had done so, because it was a full statement of the case and also as he thought a good exhibit of the reasons why the property ought
