Dear Sir:
I believe that a strong combination has formed to defeat us in our suit against Mr B. They hope to defeat our getting testimony from Miss. by creating a prejudice against us and representing us as Yankee Rads. Judge Bartley has taken hold of her case and is going to Miss. to take the evidence for her  I have no doubt but that he has a security from her for his trouble and probably a Deed of Trust on this Miss property.  We have the merits in this case and if we can get out the facts can easily defeat them but if headed off by them down there it will be hard to tell the result. It will require some money and a good deal of effort to head them off - and I hope you will continue with us and aid us in this matter. If we are defeated she will then come on you for failure to furnish her the 30 thousand, Your Agent Major Brown did not
