Gen.. Howard. Dear Sir. I take the liberty of addressing these few lines to you, hoping they may meet with a responce. Being a teacher in one of the Public Schools in this town I am. Teaching in the Basement of the Colered Baptist Church. Which I Learn was filled up by the freedmans Bureau. for a Free School house. The Trustees Charge me ten dollars a month. I have Been advised by a good many persons to apply to you. To know if they have the Right to Charge for its use. I would be glad if you would furnish me with a copy of the Contrast with the Particulars. Hopeing to hear from you soon. I Remain yours truly. Albert Ray.
