Sir,
I am instructed by Genl Howard to reply to your letter of the 30th ult. that the promise of aid in building a school house in Washn. D.C. was withdrawn some months ago, the funds having been all expended. Dr. Vogell was informed and should have informed the parties concerned. No further aid to schools can be given by this Bureau. I trust you will be able to help yourselves.
