Madison Fla 17th June 1871

To the
Surgeon General U.S.A.
Washington DC

Dear Sir

During the years 1867 and 1868 we furnished medical attention, and medical supplies to soldiers on duty at this place, by order of the officer in Command. There being no medical supplies belonging to the Govmt near this place, the officer in command, asked us to furnish what was necessary, and there would be no difficulty in our getting pay. We made out our accounts on the blank forms furnished, they were approved by the officers, and forwarded to Dept RF&AL but returned on account of some informality.

Since that time the soldiers have all been removed to different sections, the officers, we do not know where they are. We respectfully make this statement to you, and beg that you will give us information, as to how we may proceed to get our pay.

Respectfully &c
Moseley & Livingston
