Dr Sir,
A communication from your office unsigned in answer to a letter from me in relation to payments of cashier of Freedmen Bank of this city for acting pension agent is before me.

The letter states that you find no reference to the records of your office that Mr. Woodard, Cashier, paid only one case for the Bureau during the month of May last - that the work Mr. Woodard performs for this Bureau is not sufficient to pay him a salary &c.
