In reply to your communication of the 7 inst. in reference to State Bounty claim of Elizabeth Posey, I have the honor to state that I collected $50. the Final State Bounty from the controller, on the 13th December 1866 and sent claimant a certified check for $45 on the 14th Dec  66. under cover to Wm" Boswell Esg of Port Tobacco Md. My fee was $5. The Original State Bounty ($250 if free on rolls or $50 if slave) I did not collect; nor do I know to whom it was paid. The comptroller would supply this information.
