Sir: 
You are respectfully advised that on August 16, 1871 the Washington Alexandria and Georgetown Railroad Company discharged in full its indebtedness to the U.S for purchases of Military R.R. property in April 1866. 

Therefore payments for transportation services rendered to the Freedmen's Bureau need no longer be withheld from the Company on account of the QM Department.
