Dear Sir: 
Knowing of no person who will take as great an interest in this application, or no one so desirous of our promotion as a people as your self. I beg leave to introduce myself to your favorable consideration. I am a young man 18 years of age; son of Wm B. Taylor, Pastor 1st Baptist Church; & have completed my course at the Hampton Normal & Agricultural Institute. I have been teaching the Lincoln School here about one session & have also taught school under the A.M.A. I am quite desirous to learn the printing business believing that nothing is more essential
