to youths soon to assume the responsibilities of manhood than a trade. I desire that you would be so kind as to see the Sup't of Public Printing A.M. Clapp & ask him to admit me in the Department to learn the Printing Business. Several colored young men have been admitted on application to Mr. Clapp & should you be so kind as to intercede for me I have no doubt that I will be admitted. I desire to enter that Department in Dec. when Congress is in session there is more work to be done.
