I am now paying bounties &c at Pulaski, Columbia, Gallatin, Murfreesboro, and other points remote from my Portion as follows,

On the discovery of a claimant vouchers are sent him by merit for signature, there he signs (his signature being attested by the Q.M. of his place, and one other responsible person), and returns to this office, with an order directing me to send the check received in payment to him through a particular bank at his place ([[?]] it). Vouchers are returned to C.D.O. and on receipt of Check, same is forwarded to the bank named in claimants order, with directions to the cashier, to pay claimant full amt, informing him that all fees have been settled &c and to return accompanying receipts to this office.

The banks must in no case charge over 25 cts.
