Dear Sir
I write to inform you that my office in Natchez is still closed owing to the prevelence of yellow fever there I went there on last Saturday for the purpose of registering and attending the election which was held yesterday I found the fever worse than at any time previous, there being two hundred & fifty cases under treatment and an average of six death per day I took the advice of my friends and left on the first Boat only remaining long enough to register There is no business doing there and none of the Bounty claimants
