General,
In view of the "Appropriation" for the Bureau being insufficient to meet the present current expenses. Until the 1st of July 1872. [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] (certain reductions being necessary.) I hereby relinquish all right and claim whatsoever to my present pay as an officer retained under authority of Sec 4 Public Act No. 63 July 1868. and accept after the 30th Nov. 1871. in lieu thereof (100) one Hundred dollars per month.
