Respectfully returned to Gen. O.O. Howard.

I know nothing of this case, but have an impression that vouchers were once sent here, and were retained for a considerable time to enable the claimant to make an affidavit of her indebtedness to the government. And after some time, the evidence not being furnished, the vouchers were returned to the Agent at Huntsville.

Third Indorsement.

Respectfully referred by the Commr. to John H. Wager, Esq, Agent, & c. at Huntsville Ala. The records do not show that Mr. Garrison was paid for the months for which he claims pay. Mr. Wager will ascertain if possible whether Mr. Garrison was on duty during those months, and if so why he was not paid at the time. Col. John B Collis was Sub. Asst. Comr. at that time in Huntsville.
