Your esteemed favor of the 14th rec'd a few minutes ago stating that it would be illegal to support with the Bureau Fund for Schools a Free School for Whites, but to use it to sustain the best schools possible & welcome all classes. If the latter is done, will it be approved if I appoint Mr Fuller, the first class teacher I mentioned in my last letter at $100 a month for the school term of 8 months & a woman assistant at $40 a mo for the term. I got the idea from Judge Wording that the Fund was for schools of colored children alone & my last letter was written more to know if it could be used for schools where white children attended. Is there any way I can obtain the "Act" in relation to it which you mention. I am frequently asked about it.
Yours Respectfully
Nelson R Scovel.
