At a meeting of the "Rhode Island Association for Freedmen" held at Providence 6th Mo. 19th 1865 it was
Resolved that this Association cordially approves of the plan of sending Freedmen to different sections of the country where their services are wanted & that to the extent of our means we will aid the objects of this enterprise
Resolved, that in case of need we will endeavor to render pecuniary aid to the Freedmen in Washington through the "National Freedmen's Association D.C." by an appropriation from our funds
