The people are in good condition and very well contented. I talked with many of them and believe they concealed no complaint. The only one they made was that - at the Sothoron farm - the rations were all cooked together and all obliged to eat at the same table. I can see no better way with the present accommodations. There was no complaint of lack of food. All were well clad and tidy  The persons, clothing and houses of the people were neat and clean. No complaints were made against the Superintendent and his reputation for being a "just man" is not impeached by any word of fault finding from those under his charge

I found one case of concubinage. There is no minister among the people or within reach and a desire to have one was expressed by all with whom I conversed as well as by the Superintendent.
