At the Sothoron farm is an interesting school of 87 pupils taught by Miss Mary Grout who is laboring under the auspices of the New York Society of Friends which has erected a school house there at its own expense. The attention and interest evinced by the pupils speak better than volumes of praise for the faithfulness and aptitude of their teacher. There has been a school of about 35 pupils at the Cole's Creek farm, taught by Miss S. Sobb also of the N.Y. Friends. This school was closed for a time on account of the severe illness of the teacher but was to be reopened the 21st inst, [[strikethrough]] I was informed.
