AN ACT
TO INCORPORATE THE TEXAS CENTRAL IMMIGRATION COMPANY.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas, That John L. Buaas, and Herman Sjoberg, and their associates, successors and assigns, are hereby created a
body corporate and politic under the name and style of the TEXAS CENTRAL IMMIGRATION COMPANY, and by that name and style may sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, contract and be contracted with; may have a seal, and may alter it at its pleasure, and may also do and perform all such acts and things as may be necessary and [[missing text]] to be done in carrying out this act, and the object of said company, which is to cause [[missing text]] to this State.

SEC. 2. That said company is hereby invested with the right to transport to and introduce into this State, immigrants from any and all European countries.

SEC. 3. That said company is hereby invested with the right to charter, operate, own and maintain such vessel or vessels as may be deemed necessary for transporting immigrants to this State.

SEC. 4. That said company shall be entitled to receive from this State the sum of ten dollars ($10) for each emigrant, between the ages of fourteen and forty, by it introduced in accordance with the provisions of this act.

SEC. 5. That said company shall be entitled to receive from the superintendent of immigration of this State a certificate or certificates of the number of immigrants by it introduced into this State, upon making application to said superintendent within one week after the landing in this State by it of any number of immigrants, under its seal, accompanied by a descriptive list of such immigrants, verified and supported by the affidavits of at least two members of said company.

SEC. 6. That the certificate of the superintendent of immigration of this State shall be sufficient evidence of the number of such immigrants at any time introduced by said company
