I have the honor to report in this case, that 4 or 5 companies of Col'd Troops (from Chattanooga) under the Command of Col Courtney arrived at this place on the evening after the murder and remained here until the 2d of March when they left for Chattanooga - During that time, one man by the name of Bell, a Capt, then in the service was arrested and released in a few days - That other action was made by the Military in the matter of arrests
