there was a man killed in one of their street fights and the darkies are all glad of it as he helped [[strikethrough]] their [[/strikethrough]] to break up their school last spring.

Since he was killed the town has been very quiet which is quite a reformation.

I expect Mrs. Chamberlain here 1st of next month to assist me as she said she would come if I got suitable rooms - besides Walden wrote me he would notify her to come here. I am looking for instructions from Walden to unite Anderson's School with mine as the subject has been laid before the Board. I have a very interesting school and well pleased with it. When I get into my house I will be very much pleased to have you call and see Sister L. A. C. C., and I and I think I can show you one of the best Freedmen Schools extant.

Yours Truly
John Dunlap

P.S. I have made an application to have the School house insurred but the Agent of the Co. would not accept it but sent it on to the Co. yet I hope it will be accepted. I have raised thirty dollars to day for plastering the church J.D.
