In the development of the plastic arts we moved in a circle, and came back to the point of view of Paleollithic man and the Bushmen. These savages were realists and made, upon the walls of their caves, some of the most beautiful realistic drawings that the world possesses. The life about them, their hunt for animals and their battles among themselves are illustrated with surprizing clearness and charm. The drawings show no design. They
