got a prize of $750.00 more which ought to delight the Yankee soul of Edward H. (and particularly the soul of "Jo" which is positively Hawthornish in its mean and parsimonious way.)

The galleries for the Dutch show are in Meyric Roger's hands and the colors are lovely: dark, soft, leafy green, stenciled in pale gold; another one in a (non-metallic) silver hue, overlaid in gold. The Vermeer room (as we call it) is all washed greyish gold. I think the tones of the paintings will glow marvelously against these backgrounds.

Florence, I miss you a lot and wish you were back with us. Perhaps you will be some day. Remember I'm still for Arquin on the staff when and if it can be arranged.
