of the fiesta - Why they charge so much in the off season I cant imagine - 15 peso's a day - I tried bargaining -  It was no use.

Thru Francis Tour in Uruapan - we met Dr. R. Beals, the archeologist - His family live there with him & were most gracious & charming - took us all over town in the morning and invited us for dinner that night. It was really a pleasant and most interesting experience. Dr. Beals is doing some research on the Tarascanian Indians of this region. The whole family may be here for the  Fiesta - if so, they promised to look me up -

These natives do the most beautiful embroidery - and wear native costumes of brilliant red skirts, embroidered petticoats which stick out, embroidered aprons & blouses - coral, earrings etc. The men are draped in gorgeous red & black serapes - The women also wear pink satin - when they can get it I guess - If only I felt
