POSADA DE DON VASCO
PATZCUARO, MICH.

Tuesday - noon -

Samm, my dearest-
The boy just brought me your letter (the one written on Sunday) and the one from Larry which I am enclosing. It was good to get it - and to know that you and mama are both well. Last nite when you called me I was feeling quite miserable - but now I'm out in the garden - where roses, carnations, calla lillies, violet (millions of them) pansies, phlox, petunias etc etc. are growing in a sort of wild profusion - the sun is pounding down - and I'm acquiring freckles by the minute - and hope to lose this cold.
Larry's letter was interesting - I was surprised to think that Mr. Rich would read any of my letter to the staff - hope I said something worth while - I'm embarrassed - Can you imagine Larry - taking work in Greek literature now - Somehow in terms of contemporary living. it seems such a far cry - and to me such an affectation - but it will give him a lot to talk about -
When I get word of Chicago's cold & remember it only too well, naturally I realized how unwise it
