Dear Hedda,

The news I was telling you about in past letters, arrived.  I'm going to another place in temporary duty.  I think I'll have fun or anyway it'll be interesting I don't know how long I'll stay there, anyway I'll write you as soon as possible my new APO you better write me regularly and hold the mail until I'll write to the new address.  I'm rather exited, I'll leave in a few days and I'll take plenty of paper with me to make lots of drawings. The New Yorker has already published my stuff about China?

I've been packing and repacking for the last 3 days and I sent you most of the drawings I didn't burn  I'm sending you now a big box with chinese clothes, ceramics, books, paintings, a lantern, a purse and things like that, very cheap stuff but not bad.  You'll get it in a few months probably.  Also sent you [a] by regular mail 2 envelopes with a tablecloth and a special magic
