I'm one of the sloppiest naval officer in this neighborhood where they all care very much for regulations and etiquette as it is usual with outfits very much behind the lines.

It's warm here now and I spend many nights under the mosquito net thinking hot about you, for hours. My room is dark and I go there to sleep only. It's crowded [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] with suitcases and bags and shoes, dirty socks and shirts and candy and pork and beer cans.

My room mate is even worse than I as far as order and cleaning. A window, very low, a couple of feet from the ground is on the left side of my bed and I see in the morning birds on the trees, up. And chickens down looking at me then the window.

I sent you yesterday an old book with samples [[strikethrough]] characters [[/strikethrough]], (typography) different types of type.

I send you my love now, dear, darling
