Dear Toshiko,

Thank you for your letter. It was so good to hear from you. Your busy school year at Cleveland must be over by now. I was very happy to read of all your many successes in the shows. Keep up your good work! I'm sending this to you in care of Ed since he said you'll be going there for a few days. Gosh, wish we were going to be there at the conference but I have couple promises for the week and can't go - It would be a stimulating conference I am sure. Joe Stein is planning to go with Jo Roper and Mary (?) Weber - Maybe you'll get to see them there.

Last night Dr. Sherman Lee of the Cleveland Art Museum gave a lecture on Folk Art of Japan. He is a very brilliant scholar, very quiet and shibui.  We certainly enjoyed his lecture and many beautiful slides of Otsue, Ema, pots and textiles - He said he knows you and thought the Inst. was very
