have an impact, except one of two of those pieces. But as a group-- this is all designed as a group to begin with. And then the torso idea came when I saw some-- you know the tomb figures they have? Just the plain figures. And one or two of them had that feeling without my knowing. That's how it started again. Tree forms started almost to be like a torso. And that's how it is. Now I'm doing bronze on them, because I can keep them outside.

Q: How about the bronze pieces, the circular totem pole? 

Takaezu: Well, I tried to do that in clay and it wasn't that good. I have made them, but I know in bronze you could do that.

Q: What's that idea?

Takaezu: The idea started-- I wanted the idea of just having forms, tall forms. But later on it dawned on me that-- it's called Autumn Sound. When the leaves started to fall, it had a certain sound, and this one has to me autumn sound.

Q: So that's what you call it?

Takaezu: Yes. Autumn Sound.

Q: And there are two or three of them out here?
