Takaezu - 1 - 63

Takaezu: He was real human. He was a creative human. I liked him very much. He was very good in his work.

Q: He was sort of traditional, wasn't he?

Takaezu: It doesn't matter.

Q: But he came from a different school and background and everything else.

Takaezu: Right. So did Marguerite. But I think he had more creative thing than her. She was technically probably very good. She was very vocal. But Frans, to me, was very beautiful. I liked him a lot. And we got along very well.

Q: I liked him. I have some of his things from when I was studying with him. I have probably forty or fifty of his pieces that I got when I was in Rochester, way back.

Takaezu: You know who'd love to have some of his pieces? The Met, I'll bet. Not willing to part with them?

Q: You're friendlier with the Met than I am.
