income now bring in only enough to pay taxes and not always enough-
-All this Mr. Haverty has nothing to do with though I still think he treated me rather badly about the order he gave me. One other order the man died & generally I have a rather worrying tim for the last couple of years.

But my small pictures I am sure have not gone off - only for the moment I am not strong enough to work with large ones.

I was just on the point of writing you if I might sent you 3 or 4 small pictures priced from $200 to $300 - & see whether you could help me out. No sales over here.

We have just maybe escaped a new war with Germany.

Could you tell me what Mr. Haverty paid me for that picture - please. It is quite worrying - as I believe it is the only time I have had trouble with [[strikethrough]] painting [[/strikethrough]] purchases of painting.

Please excuse this wandering letter what I mean to say is that though I am better than last summer I still have to avoid any strain that would likely overdo myself & that though Mr. H-- does not like to send it over I still believe it would be best. I would like to know what Mr. Haverty gave for picture. I believe it was quite a reduced price - but that has nothing to do with making it good.

Thanking you for your kindness. Believe me H.O. Tanner
