This is a personal letter to Mr. Barrie -

Dear Mr. Barrie -

I always remember you & Mr. Clark with [[strikethrough]] my the Gallery early exhibition [[/strikethrough]] gratitude as well for your kindness & am sure you were both [[strikethrough]] I [[/strikethrough]]. The sin I committed with Mr. H —— was not delivering his picture sooner that I was trying to give him the very best I could do counted for nothing. the thing that lead me was the fact the he refused to even see the picture after there was no time limit. I really painted it over three times besides innumerable studies &c. &c. My pictures do not photograph generally very well & to get some ready money I was forced to accept a very very inferior price. coming at time when every one was saving

Mr. H —— in no treated me other than was [[fair?]] if I had a picture for sale. - He said I know I ordered it but I have no money now. - What was I doing also- He seemed to to me in Paris to a  practacing Xstian, but I do not certainly consider that he treatemed
