COMMENT :
I like the acrylic medium for many reasons (a late - 1965 - but enthusiastic convert). Fast drying permits taping of adjacent areas within the half hour, a great advantage over oil color or enamel. It is easy to obtain an immaculate, "dry" or matte surface with acrylic; at the same time, the paint film seems to me to be tougher than oil as I was using it (without added medium), and less easily damaged. I make these comparison with oil colors because, about 1959, I had developed a method of using regular tubed oil paints for hardedge painting which gave an even matte surface when dry; the disadvantages were the slow drying, and the fragility of the paint film.
