Mother wants to get over if possible either as interpreter or secondary or in some executive position and she wants to write Mrs. Whitney about it so I wish you'd prepare her for a letter from me. Mother would be splendid in a position of that kind especially as she speaks French, German & Italian and if your mother could tell me anything about it, perhaps she could tell me whom to write to. 

I am furious at you for going to the Restigouche without me - I thought we had such a nice party planned for up there!

Did you know that that little slut (excuse my most suitable expression) of an Allan McLean was back for three weeks? It has been worrying me considerably but as it's almost time for him to leave again & nothing dire or desperate has happened perhaps all is well. 

My studio is all finished and I spend a large part of my time over there - all morning in fact. I do wish you could see it but you will in the fall, as I shall come up & drag you
