Life as I know it is undoubtedly a most complicated affair & I find it exceedingly difficult to come to any reasonable agreement with it! On Friday morning, after a scarce three hours of sleep (the usual result of packing) if you had so chosen, you would have seen me eating a hurried breakfast dressed in tour clothes & rather unreasonably annoyed because the motor, which was to transport Count & me to Washington, had not yet arrived - Just as the motor did appear, the telephone rang rigorously & I was told that I was not to come up until the next week-end in terms which you already know about!
